Organic Content Standard
About
What it is: The Organic Content Standard (OCS) is an international, voluntary standard that verifies the presence and amount of organic material in a final product.
Certification Scope: It applies to all non-food goods, including textiles, apparel, and fabrics made with organically grown raw materials.
Traceability: OCS tracks the organic content through the entire supply chain — from farm to finished product — using third-party certification.
Two Label Grades:
OCS 100 – for products containing 95–100% organic material.
OCS Blended – for products with at least 5% organic material blended with conventional or synthetic fibers.
Benefits for Buyers & Brands: Provides credibility, transparency, and assurance that products contain genuine organic content.
Benefits for Farmers: Creates recognition for organic produce, supports market opportunities, and ensures their organic efforts are valued in global trade.
